YouTube Project Work
TASK 1 - Comparing YouTube Reviews to TV Reviews
YouTube Review
The YouTube review, reviewed the Second Season of Arrow.
The Crew was just himself talking to viewers editing his own materials. The background of his review looks like there could have been a green screen behind him while talking, this suggests that he may have had help from someone setting up his set, the camera etc.
The budget of his review would not be that much. Equipment such as the camera, tripod, mic and green screen would have cost quite abit out of his pocket so he could be able to produce his video but other than this after the equipment has been paid for there is virtually nothing to pay fo for except for the software he may be using to edit and create his TV Review. His style and the way he presents is quite ‘wild’ because he waves his hands back and forth not really taking much of a break to speak, however, his presenting style is very informal, speaking about his thoughts and opinions of Season 2 of Arrow.
The clothes he was wearing look semi-professional in the sense that he wore a shirt and jacket smart enough to look presentable as the viewers see quite a bit of his clothing and not just his face. The location of the review could possibly have been a room made like a home studio. This is because you see a dark red background fading into light red. This suggests that he’s got quite a bit of room to fit in with the equipment that he has when used.
The camera, you can tell isn’t the best camera such as a TV HD quality one, but it’s not just a basic webcam so I think it’s a decent camcorder of some type that does the job well. Other equipment and rig, has a tripod as the cameras high and steady so we know its not being held or is seated on a desk from a laptop. It sounds like he has used a mic as you can hear his very well with no blurred noises.
The editing has been done well, as you can tell he has cut bits out so we see continuous talking with no ‘erms’ or pauses. And he has used some type of software to put images of Arrow characters in season 2 beside him on screen as he talks. Some green screen probably was used to show the red background as the effects of t red tells me that it is not a typical background of a room with stuff behind him.
TV Review
The TV Review on BBC Click, reviewed a phone product that could use 360 degrees photo/ video footage. The Crew included the presenter and others explaining and reviewing how the product works and the programme had been editing more professionally than a YouTube video, this suggests that there may have been a crew of around 6 people.
The budget would be quite abit but not a lot in regards to TV programmes such as Doctor Who, Happy Valley etc. So I reckon the budget would have been around £5-10,000 to get it on TV edited. The style of the presenting is very formal with people discussing how the product is used and what it’s like. The presenter appears in an orderly manner wearing decent clothes for the presenting job.
The location of the review was a TV Studio where the presenter was speaking but there were also other sets were filmed such as a film set and the view from a 360 camera depending on the subject of the review. The camera was of good quality probably standing on a tripod with a cameraman behind it. And ‘neck mics’ worn by the presenter and others on the show.
The was editing in the BBC Click programme. I can tell they have edited because the camera recorded at all different angles to get the best view of the product. A small section of the programme was filmed by the 360 degrees phone to show viewers what a typical 360 shot would look like. Click’s editing also included a few transitions and pans from where it had focusses on one specific thing and rolled on to the next.

Unacceptable
Minor – e.g. a minor injury (cut or minor bruising).
Moderate – e.g. RIDDOR reportable injury, over 3 day injury, temporary ill health.
Severe – e.g. a fatality, life threatening injury or life shortening disease
Unlikely – Probability of occurrence close to zero
Possible – Could occur but unlikely to happen
Frequent – Could occur repeatedly
Unacceptable risk - Work should not be started until the risk level has been reduced. If this is not possible, even with unlimited resources, work must not begin and must be prohibited.
High risk - Work should not commence until the risk has been reduced. Considerable resources may have to be allocated to reduce the risk.
Medium risk - Efforts should be made to reduce the risk but the cost of prevention should be carefully measured and limited. Risk reduction measures may be influenced by the number of people exposed to the hazard.
Low risk - Further preventive action probably not necessary but consideration should be given to more cost effective solutions or improvements. Monitoring is required to ensure risks remain low and that controls are maintained.

SCRIPT
Hi, i’m Josh Brinkley-Ripper. Today i’m going to review the second seasons DVD of Sky one’s American DC show ‘Arrow.’
Season two introduced new faces, new villains and an unexpected death in the Queen family.
Having already lost his Father to Merlyn’s explosion on the Queen’s Gambit, Oliver’s life was not getting better.
Back on Lian Yu we got to see the true side of Slade Wilson, which I though was a great turnaround because having seen Wilson train Queen up, we only needed Shado’s death to see Slade’s dark side.
When he came to Starling City it was his turn to try and get justice on Oliver Queen for not saving his love’s life.
The combat between the vigilantes brought a great deal of suspense towards the end of the season when Deathstroke swept the life from Moira Queen away. The fact that Oliver, having lost his mother to his enemy, still standing on his own two feet, determined to take Wilson’s life shown me great courage and appreciation on the characters behalf.
The season finale was very unexpected having Slade back on Lian Yu imprisoned by A.R.G.U.S and a shock departure from Thea Queen to be with Malcolm Merlyn in Corto Maltese. I loved the end of season two as it got me thinking, what is he gonna do next?
He has no Mother, Father, Sister, it’s virtually him, dig and Felicity on his own.
Overall i’d give season 2 of Arrow a five star rating because of it’s constant action and fight scenes.
