Comment

1.1 Identify and plan a creative media project

The idea is suitable for an FMP, creating 18 photographs could be very interesting but it all depends on the execution and exhibition. Perhaps you could recreate the types of photographs from the early years in a new style/technique and recreate the newer ones in an old style.

X

Evidence: Initial Ideas Sheet, FMP Workbook (upto page 10), Proposal, Google Slides Presentation

1.2 Develop a creative media project within agreed parameters and timescale

X

Evidence: Proposal, Project Action Plan and timeline, Pre-Production outline, (Workbook page 14)

Planning and production

2.1 Identify appropriate research sources

Brilliant range of research here. You have made great use of research that can directly support the development of your website and carried out tests with the information found.

X

Evidence: Primary Research Questionnaires & Surveys, Secondary Research source list (Workbook page 11)

2.2 Use research activity to develop ideas in support of a creative media project

The primary research is the sole weak spot here, having only 6 respondents limits the effectiveness of the findings, this is something that needs to be considered.

X

Evidence: Primary Research Summary, Secondary Research - detailed analysis of at least five different sources of information

2.3 Asses the value and effectiveness of research material in developing ideas for a creative media project

Very good reflections, consistently considering research and making future plans based on progress well done.

X

Evidence: Detailed explanation of how your Primary & Secondary sources of information are helping you to plan your own FMP (Workbook pages 12-13)

Practical skills and presentation

3.1 Use media methods and technology skills to produce a creative media project

The website layout has been purposefully designed and evidenced consistently. It has a clean, modern look and the intro video works really well too. I don't think the content turned out as expected in the end but the range of materials that you produced show your creativity and ability to demonstrate skills and present information purposefully.

3.2 Identify and use appropriate presentation techniques for a creative media project

Evaluation and reflection

4.1 Assess a creative media project against identified parameters and timescales

The reflections and website evaluation demonstrate clarity and consistency. You have considered your own development and decision making extensively and considered the impact of your research frequently. The only real weak spot here is the peer feedback, you should ask peers to focus on a particular element of your project and get them to give detailed feedback. For example, you could get somebody to test the website for ease of use.

Evidence: FMP Reflective Journal - detailed weekly entries, Peer feedback 1 (Workbook page 16)

Formative Comments:

Well done Josh, you have put forth a huge effort over the course of the project. the website and all of its assets were a sizeable challenge and you have taken the time necessary to ensure that you could create this to the best of your ability. As I mentioned above, the photographs (or lack of) turned out to be the weakness here. Given that you have an extra 10 days it will be worth finding replacement images for these or finding a way to take them yourself.

Targets:

-Write an additional proposal for the website, considering how you could make the information more appealing. This should be added as part of your evaluation

- Improve peer feedback and responses (see above)

-Clearly link to your published website

- Reorganise folder, very difficult to navigate. Where is the master document with all of the links? Label this clearly

You have now received the feedback from your last interim assessment for the FMP. What are you going to do about it?

Carefully read through the feedback you have received and think about the areas for improvement that have been recommended and your predicted grade. Then fill in the document below to ensure you are clear on your action plan for the run in to the deadline. Please feel free to use my tick (copy/paste)

What areas of the project do you still need to complete before the deadline?

List here: I still need to complete some peer feedbacks ensuring that it can suggest ways in which I could improve my FMP and also what currently is working well on it.

What areas of the project can you improve to make sure you achieve your target or a higher grade?

List here: Improve the creativity of my three initial ideas so it shows that my ideas are imaginative and well thought of.

What help/support may you need to make sure you achieve your target or a higher grade?

List here: I will need the help of my peers to complete some peer feedback that will help me throughout the rest of the FMP project.
